I prefer the new separate zoom in/out buttons but where can I now find "Zoom Route" and "Zoom Default" functions (the latter I used a lot)

We were wondering if anyone would notice that.
We have re-implemented the "zoom to default scale" functionality with a long press on either zoom button.
Zoom to Route may not come back; we suspect it wasn't widely used anyway.

Thanks Tim.

Is there a way to indicate the current zoom level. Maybe a timed pop-up (like when entering airspace) after a change of zoom? Some features only become visible at specific zoom levels and when zooming in to find them it would be useful to know what level I'm current at.

I'm not worried about losing the "Zoom Route" function as I only used it during planning and the extra presses in "Zoom Out" to get there are no problem at that stage.

What else is new in the Beta?

Simon

The current zoom level is shown at the bottom left, next to the zoom buttons. I think the exception to this is phones, where there isn't enough room. I do like the idea of showing it in large numbers on the screen as you actually zoom in and out, but have never got around to actually implementing that.

There isn't a lot else in the Android beta. These days our version history page is kept up-to-date as features are actually added to our daily builds, so you can see them at:

That explains it! I was testing it on a phone.

Please can we have the editable live PLOG on Android?

Many thanks
Simon

I've added it back for the next beta, but we'll have to see if anyone experiences crashing.

Talking about the zoom functions, I would like to have the option to move the mapview immediately to the destination, sort of what the Home button does. Obviously the destination may change for every flight while the home airfield does not. Maybe longpress Home?

Interesting idea, could you tell us more about why you need to do this?

A quick way of being taken to anywhere on your route is to double-tap the virtual radar at that location.

Tim,

I reloaded a recent 400 NM 20 leg route on my Nexus7. To scroll the vertical radar to the destination takes about 4 swipes plus the tapping on the destination. Doing a longpress on the Home button would feel much more direct. Think of it as 'Home' and Shift-Home, would be quite natural and easy to remember.

There are reasons I want to study the destination area while in cruise, to learn about alternate reporting points not in the flight plan, to study the geographic features around the airport, etc. You would probably show the arrow that allows you to return instantly to the current position on the route.

Hi Tim

like the new GUI style, unfortunately the 'zoom to default scale' on long press doesn't work on neither of my androids. Maybe somebody could give it a try.
